Our service and repair workshop has seen some incredible machines over the years, from 50cc kids bikes and 1800cc trikes to wood chippers and a 6 wheel amphibious argo! All manner of engines and all brands make their way through our service department. We have 4 mechanics and it’s not unusual to see a combination of sports bikes, kids dirt bikes, quads and a lawnmower or two on their benches, in any one day!
This time of year we see a lot of quad and dirt/farm bikes, whether they are used for roaming around lifestyle blocks, conquering hills or following cattle, they all need an annual service and safety check, minimum.
We run a pick up and delivery service within 30km of the shop, so you don’t need to arrange time off to get your bike or ATV to and from the workshop. Most of the time we collect from a barn or garden, unearth the hidden key and are on our way without disrupting the owner’s day.
If you are handy with the tools, and like to work on your own vehicle, we can get tyres and parts for most makes and models. We can also source ATV accessories like; gun rack, windscreen, cargo box, trailer, spray units etc.
Being a Honda dealership we can supply any of the 2 or 4 wheel bikes, including the multi-purpose Pioneer SxS (side by side) all wheel drive unit, which seats up to 5. If you would like more information, phone or email us for a brochure.
If on the other hand you’re looking for a used quad for the bach or your lifestyle block, give us a call as we often get them traded in, or we can find a specific used unit through our dealer network.
Call (09) 274 2727 or email to book your 2, 4 (or 6! ) wheeler in for repair or service.
How far can you get on $40 worth of petrol?
An average learner legal (LAMS) bike holds between 13 and 17 litres of fuel – that amount will take you 300 to 400 kms! If you’re commuting to and from work by car, there’s a safe bet you are spending double that for half the distance!
If you haven’t given much thought to commuting by motorcycle before, now is the perfect time.
“We’ve had a lot of enquiries about small capacity motorcycles lately” says Danny
“One guy came in recently saying he sits in a line of traffic that crawls past our dealership on the way home from work every day, often thinking about calling in. He finally decided to park up and come inside to talk to us about commuting by motorcycle.”
“Not only is it more economical to run a motorcycle, especially if you commute alone, it’s quicker too – commuter bikes are light and easy to manoeuvre through traffic. They are also easy to park – most parking buildings have allocated areas for motorcycles and a lot of the time the parking is free”.
Now that the evenings are getting lighter and there is the smallest hint of spring, it’s a good time to call in and have a look at the big range of bikes available to new riders.
From 150cc scooters , cruisers through to 250cc and 500cc adventure bikes (so you can have fun on unsealed roads too), then there’s the 300cc to 500cc urban street and sport bikes, and 650cc sports bikes – yes, all learner approved. We have a selection of new and used models.
Call in and speak to one of the team at Botany Honda Motorcycles for advice on how to get your licence. You could soon be on your way to saving hundreds of dollars on fuel expenses every month.
We all like to get away from it all during summer. But sitting in a hot car, sizzling in an inevitable traffic jam certainly isn’t our idea of an escape from the rat race. There’s no better way to experience a Kiwi summer than on two wheels…
Making the right choice when it comes to what to ride isn’t always straight forward, so our team are on hand to help.
It really comes down to individual preference and the experience of the rider – If your style is more laid back, then a Shadow 150, CMX500 Rebel (both learner legal) or the sleek VT1300X Fury could be for you. These bikes are all cruiser style.
If you’re planning on going further afield with a pillion, then something like the VFR1200 Crosstourer would be more suitable – a very comfortable ride with big padded seats (very important for the pillion!) and heated grips.
If a brand new motorcycle is just a little too much for the wallet to handle, we can arrange finance or advise on used models. Either way, you can test ride most models to ensure you get the bike that is right for you.
If you want to get your licence but don’t know where to start, you can hire a LAMS (learner approved) bike from us for the day to take a course or test. We can even lend you the safety gear to wear.
