At Botany Honda we are always encouraging people to get on two wheels with local demo days and sponsored trail rides. Our most recent event was a free ‘Have-a-Go’ at road riding.
This event was for people who hadn’t been on a motorcycle or scooter before to have a go in a safe environment. Everything was provided; bikes, helmets, gloves and 3 fabulous professional instructors from Passmasters.
A crowd of budding riders attended the event where a large area to the side of the Botany Honda building was sectioned off. It was great to see so many different people having a go – in fact the age range spanned 3 generations.
On lookers enjoyed a hot drink and free sausage sizzle (ooo yeah, food AND motorcycles), while waiting for their turn and chatting to the guys about what’s involved in getting a licence, what kind of motorcycle most suited their needs, plus advice on appropriate riding apparel, finance and insurance options.
Following the event we’ve had several people contact us expressing an interest to attend the next one – so we plan to run this again on Saturday 22nd September 2018. Spaces are limited so if you’d like to reserve a slot, email firstname.lastname@example.org
With petrol prices due to hit an all time high, it’s a good time to start commuting by motorcycle. Botany Honda have a great range of learner legal bikes (LAMS) and scooters in stock – new and used.
If you’d like more information on road motorcycling, give one of the team at Botany Honda a call (09) 274 2727. Or if you’d like to take a course – contact one of the fab instructors at www.passmasters.nz. Botany Honda can even hire you a bike for the day.
Scooters are becoming more and more popular – a great way to commute, get to and from uni or pop to the shops. Easy to park too – they slip in to the smallest of parking spaces.
No surprise the demand for scooters has grown in NZ – they are cheap to buy, cheap to maintain and economical to run, especially now petrol is so stupidly expensive. Some, like the Honda Giorno 50, you can ride on your car licence. Others are mostly LAMS approved (learner legal) so just need a learner licence. Find out what’s involved in getting a learner licence.
If you’re just getting started, you’ll need protective riding gear too.
